MPIA Summer Internship 2026 in Germany (Fully Funded)

Description:

The applications are now open for the MPIA Summer Internship 2026 in Germany. It is a Fully Funded internship for international students from around the world. The internship duration is three months. The MPIA Summer internship will typically take place between May and September 2026 at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) in Heidelberg, Germany. The MPIA offers a fully funded internship for Bachelor’s and Master’s students to gain experience in astronomy. Students who have already graduated are not eligible for the MPIA Summer Student Internship.

Grants:                          The program covers:

  • Return Airfare to/from Germany
  • 1000€/Month
  • Full Social benefits.

Eligibility criteria: Candidates from all countries are eligible for the MPIA Internship.

  • Open to students enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program.
  • The student must obtain their degree after the end of the internship. (Master’s degree students are exempted from this).
  • Bachelor students must have at least four completed semesters at the beginning of the internship in May/June 2026.
  • Must be available for three months.
