? COMSATS University Islamabad Welcomes Scottish Delegates ?
Islamabad, on 2nd February 2026, COMSATS Islamabad hosted a Scottish delegation from Robert Gordon University, led by Professor Steve Olivier, Principal & Vice-Chancellor. The visit featured a campus tour, library walk-through, and high-level discussions with CUI leadership, including Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, T.I., Rector, Dr. Fahim Ashraf Qureshi, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Sohail Asghar, In-Charge, Islamabad Campus, Prof. Dr. Sajjad A. Madani, Controller of Examinations, several Deans of Faculties, and Ms. Muniba Nasir, Incharge, International Office, and her team.
Highlights from the day:
- Rector Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar showcased the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Biomedical Materials (IRCBM) and three products successfully commercialized internationally, while appreciating CUI’s past engagement with RGU. The Rector also highlighted the Architecture, Art and Design, Engineering and Computer Science team at CUI leading potential collaborations with RGU, including student semester exchange programs and faculty-to-faculty and research group collaborations. He clarified that any MoU requires mandatory prior approval from the Government of Pakistan, which will be processed by CUI immediately.
- Ms. Muniba Nasir, Incharge, International Office, presented CUI’s overview, remarkable journey, and milestones from 2000–2026.
- Professor Olivier lauded CUI’s interdisciplinary research, emphasizing its strong alignment with RGU’s vision for collaboration.
- Professor Kilbride shared RGU’s focus on student mobility in Architecture, Engineering & Technology, faculty exchanges, research collaboration, and Business School partnerships.
MoU will proceed following mandatory Government of Pakistan approval before formal collaborations begin.
