CUI Hosts International Delegation to Strengthen Global Academic and Research Collaborations

Islamabad, February 6, 2026 – COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) welcomed an international delegation from universities and organizations to discuss global education, research, and faculty/ student exchange.

The delegation included Mr. Samiullah Sami (Education Scenario International, Lahore), Mr. Sami Ahmed Khan (PeopleCert/LanguageCert, Pakistan), Mr. Muhammad Hamza Bilal (Expatrio & Fintiba, Germany), Dr. Diamantis Demitrios and Mr. Shayan Khalid Chawla (City University Qatar), Mr. Kavilan Mahadhevan (BAC Group, Malaysia), Mr. Gurpeet Singh (UNIMY University, Malaysia), and two US investors.

During the interaction, Professor Dr. Sohail Asghar, In-Charge Islamabad Campus, presented an overview of the University and Islamabad Campus. Ms. Muniba Nasir, In-Charge International Office, introduced CUI’s 26-year legacy, flagship programs, international rankings, research and development, publications, and global initiatives. Discussions highlighted cutting-edge research, AI integration, and emerging technology trends in CUI’s Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Cybersecurity, and Data Science programs, renowned for producing industry-ready graduates and entrepreneurs.

Key collaborations proposed included faculty and student exchanges, architecture semester programs, joint research projects funded through Qatar’s QRDI with City University Qatar, PhD programs with UNIMY University, Malaysia, and support for international students by Expatrio & Fintiba. PeopleCert/LanguageCert introduced professional certification and language training initiatives, including a faculty-focused Train-the-Trainers program. Education Scenario International explored campus expansions, Public-Private Partnership models, and German language initiatives.

The delegates were also shown the Junaid Zaidi Library, with a briefing by the Senior Librarian on student and faculty facilities and the library’s resources.

Ms. Muniba Nasir, In-Charge International Office, will serve as the focal person for coordinating collaborations with the visiting institutions. With its strategic international outreach, CUI continues to position itself as a hub for innovation, research excellence, and cross-border academic opportunities.
