COMSATS Varsity International Office Engages at Robert Gordon University Showcase

On a formal invitation from Professor Steve Olivier, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Robert Gordon University (RGU), Aberdeen, Scotland, the International Office of COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), represented by Ms. Muniba Nasir, In-Charge, and Mr. Zubair Iqbal, UK Desk Officer, Senior Program Officer participated at the Scotland & Robert Gordon University Showcase, held on 2^nd February 2026 at Serena Hotel, Islamabad.

The representatives actively engaged with senior officials from academia, embassies, and industry, exploring avenues for strategic collaborations and fostering transnational academic linkages. The Showcase featured a meticulously curated programme, commencing with a welcome note by Mr. Hassan Khan, RGU Country Manager, Pakistan, followed by keynote addresses by Professor Steve Olivier, Principal & Vice-Chancellor, and Professor Lynn Kilbride, Vice Principal.

The Guest of Honour, Ms. Jane Marriott CMG OBE, British High Commissioner to Pakistan, emphasised the importance of strengthening Pakistan-UK educational partnerships. Video messages from Ms. Janette Forbes and Mr. Imran Khalil of the Pak-UK Business Council, alumni showcases, RGU recruitment updates, and highlight videos of Scotland & RGU further enriched the event. Distinguished RGU faculty and leadership, including Dr. Julie Jones, Mr. David Christie, and Ms. Julie Anderson, participated actively.

The Showcase celebrated Scotland’s enduring tradition of innovation and Aberdeen’s stature as a global energy and knowledge hub, providing a compelling platform for academic diplomacy, collaborative research, transnational education, and faculty-student exchanges.

For CUI’s International Office, the event offered an invaluable opportunity to explore strengthen institutional ties, formalize MoU, and cutting-edge avenues for international collaboration, reflecting a shared vision of global academic excellence and enduring partnership.
