CUI Showcases Iran’s Scientific and Cultural Achievements in Landmark Exhibition

Islamabad, 17 February 2026: COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) hosted the “Exhibition of the Achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran” at the Junaid Zaidi Library in collaboration with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iranian Cultural Consulate. A five-member delegation led by H.E. Majid Meshki, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of Iran, attended the event.

The event commenced with a meeting between the visiting delegation and the International Office (IO) team, followed by the formal inauguration ceremony. Ms. Muniba Nasir, Head International Office, in her opening address, thanked H.E. Majid Meshki, Cultural Counsellor, for bringing the exhibition to CUI and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening academic, cultural, and scientific collaboration between the two countries.

Prof. Dr. Sohail Asghar, In-charge CUI Islamabad Campus, expressed appreciation for Iran’s remarkable scientific and technological advancements showcased in the exhibition and commended the depth of progress reflected in the display panels. He also extended his gratitude to the Embassy for the generous gift of books presented for the Iran Corner established at the CUI Library.

While addressing the audience, H.E. Majid Meshki appreciated the longstanding cooperative relationship between Iran and CUI, thanked the University for hosting the exhibition, and emphasized the importance of further strengthening scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries. He encouraged students to actively engage with the exhibition materials.

The inauguration was followed by a guided walkthrough of the exhibition panels and a book donation ceremony. CUI souvenirs were presented to H.E. Majid Meshki and Dr. Mehdi Taheri, Cultural Attaché, Iran Embassy and Director, Khana-e-Farhang.

Dr. Shariyeh Hosseini Nasab, Associate Professor, Architecture Department, CUI Lahore Campus, also attended the event and held fruitful discussions on prospects for academic cooperation which was highly regarded by the embassy officials.

The visit concluded with mutual appreciation and a reaffirmed commitment to expanding academic, cultural, and scientific collaboration between CUI and Iranian institutions.
