COMSATS University Islamabad Students Shine at International Macroeconomics Olympiad 2026
Islamabad - April 20, 2026: Four students from the Department of Economics at COMSATS University Islamabad proudly represented Pakistan at the prestigious IV Open International Internet Olympiad on Macroeconomics, held on April 10, 2026. The competition was organized by the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management in Turkmenistan.
The international event brought together outstanding students from across the globe, including participants from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Spain, Italy, Germany, Romania, Lithuania, China, Türkiye, Iran, and Pakistan, reflecting a strong spirit of global academic collaboration and competition.
Among the participating students, Mr. M. Taha and Mr. Nohan Nawab achieved outstanding success by securing first position in the Olympiad, demonstrating exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills in macroeconomics. Additionally, Ms. Iman Wadood earned third position, further highlighting the academic excellence of the university’s students on an international stage.
The students were nominated by the Department of Economics and were rigorously prepared and mentored by Dr. Saima Nawaz, Associate Professor. Their guidance played a crucial role in equipping the participants with the knowledge and confidence required to excel in such a competitive environment.
The TSIEM International Olympiad on Macroeconomics serves as a significant platform for fostering intellectual exchange and promoting global engagement among students. The remarkable achievements of COMSATS University Islamabad’s participants underscore the institution’s dedication to nurturing talent and representing Pakistan with pride in international academic forums.
