NSF–PSF Joint Call for Proposals 2026, jointly announced by the Pakistan Science Foundation and the National Science Foundation Sri Lanka, aimed at strengthening bilateral scientific cooperation through joint research and development initiatives.
The programme supports applied research projects with industrial relevance, focusing on innovation, commercialization, and socio-economic impact in both countries.
Key Priority Areas (as per the call):
- Environment and Climate Change
- Herbal Medicine, Biotechnology and Yield Improvement
- Engineering and Material Sciences
- Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security
- Smart Agriculture and Value Addition ()
In addition, proposals are expected to contribute towards:
- Development of technologies, processes, and prototypes
- Industry linkage and commercialization potential
- Practical solutions addressing societal and economic challenges ()
The call offers a maximum duration of 2 years with a funding ceiling of USD 26,000, and the submission deadline is 23 June 2026.
In this regard, we have received the below request from the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, inviting collaboration with CUI faculty under the priority area of Environment and Climate Change. The proposed research topic is:
“Mindfulness as a Strategic Tool in Disaster Management: Enhancing Psychological Resilience and Community Preparedness.”
Faculty members working in climate change, disaster management, psychology, public policy, environmental sciences, AI applications, biotechnology, agriculture, and engineering disciplines are strongly encouraged to explore this opportunity. Interdisciplinary proposals with clear practical outcomes and international collaboration components are particularly desirable.
