2-Day Life Skills Training on Graphic Designing held at Islamabad Campus

The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization – Professional Development (ORIC-PD), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), successfully organized a 2-Day Life Skills Training on Graphic Designing on July 1-2, 2026.

The training was organized under the visionary initiative of the worthy Rector. The training is part of CUI's Life Skills Development Program, which aims to enhance the professional capacity of university employees by promoting continuous learning, digital proficiency, and workplace excellence.

The training brought together 23 employees from the Islamabad Campus and the Principal Seat, equipping them with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in contemporary graphic design tools and techniques to strengthen their digital competencies and visual communication skills.

The training aimed at strengthening the professional competencies, digital skills, and overall capacity of CUI employees. The training provided participants with practical knowledge and hands-on exposure to contemporary graphic design tools and techniques, thereby enhancing their ability to develop high-quality visual communication materials for academic and administrative purposes.

Training Objectives:

The objectives of the training were to:

  1. Understand the fundamental principles of graphic design, including layout, color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy.
  2. Become familiar with the interface and essential tools of industry-standard graphic design software.
  3. Create professional-quality designs such as posters, social media graphics, flyers, and banners using design best practices.
  4. Apply branding principles to develop visually consistent and engaging marketing materials.
  5. Learn basic image editing, photo enhancement, and vector graphic techniques for effective visual communication.
  6. Develop the ability to prepare and export design files in appropriate formats for both print and digital platforms.
  7. Complete a hands-on design project that demonstrates the practical application of the skills learned during the training.

Upon completion of the training, feedback was obtained from all participants through structured evaluation forms. The responses indicated an overwhelmingly positive level of satisfaction, with participants highly appreciating the effectiveness of the Resource Person, Mr. Khurram Shahzad Bhatti, Tracer, Art Gallery, Principal Seat, the quality and relevance of the training content, and its practical applicability. The overall evaluation of the program was rated ‘Excellent,’ demonstrating the successful achievement of the intended learning outcomes and the effectiveness of the initiative.

The initiative reflects COMSATS University Islamabad's commitment to fostering innovation, professional growth, and institutional excellence by aligning human capital with emerging technological advancements.
